i am a C/C++ programmer so not much circuit tranning pls

how do i identify on a circuit board the voltage used?

pls let me know what to look for on the bord i think its 9v powered

so what do i look for on the bord if i want to power it up using a battery

thank you

any links on how to read a circuit bord is much appreciated.

you'll need a dmm. Find where the power comes into the board and measure it. If the board isn't live (i'e no way to measure), look for a regulator circuit near the power input. you might get lucky and be able to read the part number. from there you can find the datasheet on the web. then you can figure out what the input pin is an hook your battery up there.

If the board uses a linear regulator (datasheet will say), then most certainly it can be battery powered but will probably drain a battery pretty quicky.

if there is not regulator then it expects regulated power from off board and there is no simple answer with out more information.

post a picture if you want more help. it needs to show the chip with legible part numbers on them.
