Hello,

my project is an "Audio Toilet" :). The idea is to play a random mp3 track whenever the light is turned on in the toilet.
I've just recieved the Mp3 Trigger V2 and loaded the 2.23r firmware. I then jumpered trigger 18 in order to continually get a random track on power up.
Unfortunately it doesn't work as expected:

Each time the Mp3 Trigger is powered up the same pseudo random track squence is played, so I always get the same track on power up.

Any ideas to get a happy toilet?

Cheers

Hi Marc,

What you observe is the expected behavior, since it is a pseudo-random generator (except for the fact that it won't allow the same track twice in a row.)

If you really need to cycle the power and get a random track, the only way to do it currently would be to use a separate processor to calculate a true random number and send a serial command to the MP3 Trigger to play the corresponding track. Probably not the answer you were hoping for...
