Hi,
I own a SerAccel v5 Enclosed is a 3 axis accelerometer. Its uses a rs232 communication protocol and I would like to graph the real time output of this sensor using labview. I also want to integrate the acceleration signal to obtain velocity as well. My project involves using the accelerometer to help rowing training on a rowing erogmeter.
http://www.sparkfun.com/datasheets/Acce ... cel-v5.pdf
I also want to convert the acceleration signal to velocity. I saw this referred to in a previous thread but I need exact details of the electronics required. The distance travelled back and forth during is 0.5m each way with a velcoity range of 0.125-0.25m/s
http://www.sparkfun.com/cgi-bin/phpbb/v ... elerometer
This velocity does not have to be super accurate. It should allow the rower to know when the seat is travelling at a constant velocity over the period of the rowing stroke
I am attaching the accelerometer to a concept2 rowing ergometer seat to record the acceleration profile of 1 full rowing stroke. I then want to graph the acceleration output as a function of time
http://www.concept2.com/05/rower/flash_presentation.asp
The time to complete 1 stroke will vary from 4 seconds to 2seconds. The distance travelled back and forth will be 0.5m. A perfect sroke will provide certain type of acceleration profile. I want to use my accelerometer to measure my acceleration profile.
Any help/advice suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Frank
