Hi

Electrically conductive tape such as

http://www.vikingtapes.co.uk/3M_Product ... ase%20Feed

When I saw it I assumed it was conductive across the length of the tape, you could put meter probes at either end of a strip of it and get an electrical connection. But the data sheet seems to suggest the conductivity is in fact through rather than across the tape

Has anybody experience of these products who could clarify? I can think of lots of applications for what I thought it was (simply flex circuits for example) but not so many for what it would seem to be!

What would fulfil the former requirements? I've been looking at conductive fabric which is cool but like the idea of sticky strips ... mmm sticky strips.

It is conductive both along and through the tape. I have used adhesive copper tape in the past for some shielding experaments and found that the adhesive dosn't conduct very well at high frequencies. Havn't used this specific product though, it looks like the embossed patteren on the tape is supposed to create metal to metal contact. It probably works well enough at low frequencies, but I suspect it won't work well at higher frequencies. You could probably use it for DC applications and slow switching digital circuits.
