Hello hello!

Free day was interesting, although I did not get in it was fun on Twitter. Now I need to find some parts to get the real projects back on track!

Here are some connectors that I cannot find on mouser or digikey due to search option failure :
Match screw on connectors, plastic housing, not waterproof but usually have a cap to protect the ends I am looking for 4pin ones in particular.

I have seen these on mouser once but cannot find them again, don't know what they are called but their amazingly handy to have around! and then their related pins

The last one is the hardest, I am making a wire wrap board and require around 740 wrap pegs that press into veroboard and have a socketed pin on the back (so I can push in through hole components, ic's, etc) but still wire wrap. Cheapest I found was a 1000pc discount to $0.11/pc but that's quite a bill for tie points alone. Does anyone know a good place to bulk order wire wrapping stuff??

I prefer to order everything from digikey as shipping is 1/4 that of mouser but wherever the best prices lie is my goal. Thanks!

Thanks for the links bmarvo, Never heard of Pololu but I have seen that logo at sparkfun before.

Mouser calls the headers MINI-LATCH Row Housing, I seriously need a new catalog as mousers search while comprehensive if they do not put in a piece of info and you refine your search the engine removes the entry. very annoying.

Im still having trouble finding wire wrap pins like these as well as round flanged connectors and their mating ends, found some on digikey but with pins and everything it comes to over $40 each, that's way to much... as I need 6 sets

Here's something like the first one..

Digikey P/N: 708-1501-ND
Datasheet: http://www.bulgin.co.uk/PDFs/CatNo82/EX ... _Zone2.pdf

There's a couple other part numbers I found with similar parts... Search "Screw connector" then select circular, then narrow down to 4 pins and flange-mount....

iceblu3710,
Have you considered using female headers, such as:
http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/produc ... cts_id=115
which cost approximately $0.04/pin? I bought a couple of strips of these to make female connectors for servo extension cables. I haven't made any such cables yet, but I did do a couple of test wire wraps. With both 22 and 30 AWG, I was able to get connections strong enough to pull the metal parts out of the plastic. I do not know if they'll give you adequate contacts with the components, however, as I haven't tested the connections to the other end.

BTW, why not just wire wrap directly to the through-hole components? The reasons I like wire wrapping include that it doesn't risk cooking the component and that it can be undone and redone with a minimum of pain.

As for the circular connectors, I believe the terms for which you are looking are "Circular Plastic Connector" and "CPC". I don't know a low-cost supplier, although I do remember seeing some non-AMP connectors of that format several years ago.

Good Luck,
Eric

The circular connectors in the photo are AMP CPC series 1. They are pretty common, relatively cheap, pretty rugged and available from most suppliers. Here's a link from Mouser:

Note that backshells and pins/sockets may be sold separately - be sure to order all the parts you need.

These

or

are about $0.05/pin.

Can you just use a regular IC socket, and cut them to suit? If so, you can get those for $0.035/pin
http://www.allelectronics.com/make-a-st ... T/-/1.html

Back in the day, we used to be able to get little carriers that fit in an IC socket, but had terminals on top so you could solder discrete components, e.g. resistors to them. But I don't know where you get them now, and you'd still need to buy WW sockets to put them in.

$0.11/pin may be about as good as it gets. They're not used as much as they once were, and even back in my school days (when wire-wrap was state of the art for prototyping, and even used for some production) I often spent more on the sockets than the chips that went in them.
