Has anybody used the xport ethernet module from Lantronix? Looks like it might be a nice solution to offload ethernet tasks from your projects embedded processor.

I purchased a few for personal use, never used them.

However we do use them extensively at work, and they are very cool!

Also have a look at the WiPort, it's the wirelss version...

I have used both the Xport and Wiport many times. I never had a problem with either one. The connector for the Wiport is a little hard to hand solder.

Another option is from Digi. They make units about the same, but the wireless and wired versions use the same footprint.

I don't have as much experience with the xport as bdring but one thing that is a little suprising is the amount of current draw - up to 267 mA. You need a pretty good 3.3V supply.

Also, they don't have linux version of their com port redirector. I haven't spend enough time to figure out how to use telnet or http or ? to get a simple data stream (for logging). Been testing with windows for now.
