Microchip USB B'loader with non-Microchip compiled program

Has anyone successfully created a program using a non-Microchip C-compiler, but put it onto a chip containing Microchip's USB Bootloader? I think the only thing you'd need to account for is having the code skip past the boot sector; how to do that is compiler-specific, but wondered if anyone has done this.
