SMiRF V2 serial -> serial link with two remote units?

I want to have two AVR's communicate. Last year the SMiRF V1 was offered that was two serial devices. Hook them up and you had a wireless serial link.

Can the V2 remote units be configured in this way? I don't need the USB base station.

Yes, they can. You can also order the remote units by themselves right from the web site.
