Hi!
I have developed the communication betweet two wireless sensor nodes, during which temperature is periodically sampled and transmitted.

After measuring current consumption for different baud rates in TX mode I have noticed that current consumption decreases while increasing baud rate.

What can be the explanation of this effect? Logically thinking if amount of data to transmit is increased, the energy consumption should be higher as well.

Less time to transmit the same amount of data?

You don't say exactly what and how you measured but I think that the longer the transmitter is energized, the more current it consumes. Using an ASK transmitter?

I suspect the biggest win is to design your circuit so you can completely power down the transmitter section.
