All things pertaining to wireless and RF links

Hello All,

I've been using Maxstream XBee radios embedded in a custom remote. The remote is used to control a custom lighting control with another XBee module.

Production of the custom remote is difficult, expensive, and time consuming. I would like to replace the custom remote with a PDA (Tungsten E2) with Bluetooth. That way a custom app can be written and the capabilities of the remote won't be limited by how many keys I can build into a stock enclosure.

Question is:

I'm having a hard time deciphering whether the BlueSMiRF modules lend themselves to this simple link. (XBEE was super simple)

Does anyone know of a 'How-to' that I could use to get started?

It appears from just playing with the Bluetooth options in the Palm, there are a lot of settings that need to be configured to establish a connection.

I'll continue to dig into the BlueRadios manual and see if I can find any of these answers on my own. Until then, any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can visit the following webpage to see an example of how to send
serial data from a Pocket PC PDA to the BlueSMiRF module and an
Athena microcontroller. The steps for configuring the PALM maybe
similar.
