Hi,

I am working on GM862.After loading the FTTP client,I am not able to upload any server. One reason could be,the IP address that i m getting seems to be virtual. It starts with a two digit number unlike a 3 digit number.I am not able to figure this out and was wondering if i could get some assistance.

Thanks!

There are three IP addres ranges set aside for "private" (not globally routable) uses --- 10.x.x.x, 172.16.x.x through 172.31.x.x, and 192.168.x.x. There's also the "zeroconf link-local" range 169.254.x.x which is not meant to be routable.

If the address is not in one of those ranges it ought to be globally reachable, but there might be a firewall in the way anyway. If the address *is* in one of those ranges you might be behind a NAT, which usually means that you can make outgoing connections but not receive incoming connections.

Have you tried FTP Passive mode (PASV)? Most clients default to using passive mode now, because NATs are so common, but some don't.
