All things pertaining to wireless and RF links
#2736
I am running a modified X25 protocol that Ham Radio Operators use called AX25 over a pair of Laipac TLP434A/RLP434A units. I got the link up yesterday and it works great. I am really impressed how well those RF units work. Am Using a PIC16F88 and Olimex board for the processor.

I want to use a receiver/xmitter at one of the units to build a digital repeater that receives, processes, and then retransmits. This is pretty easy to do with 2 antennas, one for the receiver and one for the xmitter. But, Would really like to use a single antenna.

Question is..
Has anyone ever connected the antenna leads together for these 2 rx/tx units to build a half duplex transceiver? Am worried if the xmitter power would destroy the receiver or if the xmitter output would detune the receiver.

Or, is a duplexor of some sort available?

I called Laipac Product Support in Canada but no one has called back.

I have seen "antenna switches" mentioned in some circuits, so I would imagine it's suggested to use one.

When I had a question I emailed tech (at..) laipac.com and got a very fast response, so you might try that.
