Hi,

I have a doubt about the connection....

When I connect one hac-um96 to a pic i have to do it with the rs232 interface?? or this is direct (um96 to pic) and only use the rs232 to connect it to the PC.

If you read the datasheet you'll see that the UM96 has both TTL and RS-232 level UARTs.

I would recommend using the TTL uart to connect directly to your PIC.

Thanks....and what do you recommend to the connection to the PC???....

I'm being watching a site (in spanish) http://www.olimex.cl/tutorial/guia_rapi ... f.....they connect the hac-um96 directly to the PC without rs232....

Use the TTL levels to connect directly to a 5V pic. Use the RS232 levels
to connect to a PC.
