Interphone Project

Good Day
I am a student at the Academy of Sound Engineering Johannesburg. For a project I am attempting to design and build a interphone (helmet intercom) for wireless communication between two athletes. I have researched numerous Bluetooth and RF modules. It is not clear if these modules can communicate with one another in full duplex.
I would kindly appreciate any suggestions on compatible modules to incorporate into such a project.
