Just wondering why is it you can amplify a signal with something like a repeater but not attenuate it wirelessly as well? Wouldn;t the same mechanics apply?

Why do you think you can't attenuate a signal?

I've heard of repeaters and devices that amplify but not ones that attenuate wirelessly I mean, not at the source. It is possible? I'm thinking of devices that claim to reduce EMF-why they claim they work, but in fact do nothing.

Look up "Faraday cage", which can reduce EM radiation to as close to zero as you like.

I understand shielding but I'm talking about devices that amplify but not attenuate a signal wirelessly.
