I am trying to think of a way to wirelessly power-on a project that is primarily sealed. This would enable the project to be turned on/off without opening the case (until it needs to be charged).....And I cannot simply put a switch on it...Think something like sphereo does. You never actually have a on/off switch...

I was thinking maybe a Particle Photon and a relay. The Photon (or other suggested board) would wake from a wirless trigger and fire off the relay to turn on the overall project...I could use a separate, smaller, battery for the Photon I guess...

Does this seem like a reasonable approach? Is there a better choice of dev board for this (instead of the Photon)?

Thanks!!

If you have physical access to the case, the simplest way is a magnet and a reed switch.
Or if you can make a sealed, transparent opening: an IR signal.
Or a keyfob & 433 MHz repeater.

Photon would be w aaaay down my list
