All things pertaining to wireless and RF links

Hi,

I need to interface a serial device to a mobile phone. Interfacing with either BT or a serial/USB cable is next to impossible to me because I'd have to be a licensed and certified company willing to shell out $$ for the rights to the sw frameworks. All I am trying to do is a proof-of-concept prototype to show potential customers. The phone I am working with does support WiFi, so...

So I am looking to see if there is a relatively inexpensive and power savvy module which supports the 802.11 stack, TCP/IP and can be controlled by a simple microcontroller chip.

suggestions?

thanks all!

The phone supports 3G, so it can have a data connection while using other types of comm. like WiFi.

Just looking for a way to connect to other serial port devices without needing the certification for now. A serial cable or USB would be so easy, but just as a sole individual, I can't swing the licensing agreement (plus costs) to get those interface frameworks.

thanks will check out those companies.
