Bootloading EEPROM data

Postby upand_at_them » Fri Apr 29, 2005 9:03 pm

Does Bloader program the EEPROM or is that part of the program ignored?

If the latter, is there any chance to fix it?

I figured out the answer to my question. Screamer does ignore the EEPROM data area, but I'm in the process of modifying it to allow programming that area.

I will also be changing Bloader for the 16F88 (I don't own the other chips and can't test them).

If anyone has found any bugs in Screamer let me know now so that I can fix this all at once.

Well, I have partial success.

I modified Screamer to send the EEPROM data and I modified Bloader to program it. But for some reason Bloader is only programming the first byte. I know the rest is being sent from Screamer...just can't figure out why it's not all getting programmed.

Okay, I got this to work. Anyone interested?

I can produce Bloader files for the PIC16F88 for these crystals:
4MHz
8MHz internal
10MHz
20MHz
3.6864MHz
7.3728MHz
11.0592MHz
14.7456MHz
18.432MHz
