Olimex LPC 2378 STK

Hello,
I have very less experience in coding.
I need to interface the external LCD display (2*16) and keypad to LPC2378. I dont know how to start with the software.
I made necessary hardware connections for the LCD and keypad. I am using 6 lines for the LCD and 3 lines for the keypad which is connected to P4 of EXT1 (GPIO).
Please provide some guidance on how to initialize the LCD and keypad.
