I have been using the qwiic mp3 trigger and i zapped the wt2003s ic. I ordered a replacement ic and soldered it on but it doesnt seem to be working.

I was wondering if there is some initialization i need to do or if these are just bad ic's from china?

It's possible you also zapped the ATtiny84 that's on the board as well. That chip needs firmware uploaded to it for it to work and the board won't work if that chip is also damaged or missing it's firmware. We don't have directions for uploading firmware to the ATtiny so it might be easier to replace the board rather than replace the IC's on the board.

Hmm thats true. I do have an avr programmer if i solder wires to the leads and then connect to the programmer that should tell me if the ATtiny is responding or not. I'll try that to confirm...

I was able to connect the programmer to the ATtiny and it was able to read the ID seems like that is working, also tried connecting the USB to read the micro SD card and it wouldn't read it. Unless there is some special initialization I am missing in the datasheet its looking more and more like the chips I bought are no good. Maybe just need to buy a new board.
