Re: Arduino Mega + WiFly

I purchased the Arduino Mega 2560, WiFly shield, and Ardumoto. Note that the WiFly and Ardumoto appear not to be compatible as according to http://shieldlist.org/sparkfun/ardumoto the Ardumoto uses pins 11, 12 & 13 for functionality other than SPI. For now, I am simply looking to get some kind of t...

Re: WiFly Shield code library alpha 2 release

I do not have a sticker on my Shield. So how can I get it another way. Upload the 'SpiUartTerminal' sketch from the File > Examples > WiFly > tools menu. Open the serial monitor. Enter "$$$" as directed (without line endings). Enable line ending and type this followed by the enter/return key or sen...

Re: Sparkfun example GPS parser errors

to get to the libraries folder you need to right click on the arduino logo in your applications folder and select "show package contents" this will allow you to open that directory. from there go to CONTENT>RESOURCES>JAVA>LIBRARIES and drop them in there. Actually, that's the old way of doing this ...

Re: Streaming GPS data over a network connection

Does anyone have an Arduino sketch which could send the NMEA information over either a TCP or Ethernet Shield? You would need a "proxy" sketch that reads the NMEA input from the hardware serial port (assuming that's how the GPS is connected) and writes it to a TCP connection. You could modify one o...

Re: Sparkfun example GPS parser errors

I am using a Mac and have files in the following locations: ... Arduino libraries and arduino files that I have created are in an Arduino folder in the Documents folder. On Mac OS X you need the libraries in a subfolder of the Arduino folder in the Documents folder. e.g.: Documents/Arduino/librarie...

Re: start up the rn131-g wifly module

It looks like you're getting only partial responses to your commands. Maybe there is a flow control, buffering or ground issue?

Re: WiFly Shield Compatibility w/ Arduino Mega

So if I need to use the original pins I need to disconnect them right? I would have the voice shield and it needs 13 for ready status. But the ready pin might not be required. As far as I can tell you won't be able to use the VoiceBox shield with the WiFly and Arduino Mega without modification due ...

You just jumper the pins over. You need to make sure you don't use the original pins though.

Re: WiFly Shield code library alpha 2 release

Great work on this WiFly library so far. Thanks. Apologies for the delay in answering. My question(if it hasn't been answered already) is, how is the MAC Address handled. I know with the Ethernet class you have to provide one. Each WiFly module has a MAC address hardcoded--there's a sticker on the ...

Yes.
Have you an example sketch?
To get started I'd just use the WiFly_WebClient and WiFly_WebServer sketches I mentioned earlier. A "telnet" style approach would be simpler but I don't have an example sketch for that.

Re: Arduino SMD variant Uno's exhibiting "Flash amnesia" problem

Well, we have a new working boot loader for the Uno SMD-editions with the 'flash amnesia' problem as well: http://www.sparkfun.com/tutorials/247 FWIW I've had success using this alternate method: Instead of downloading avrdude and doing the steps in the "Programming the Target Board" section, you c...

Re: Help with comment WiFly board to my WiFi network

I am having trouble connecting the WiFly board to local WiFi network. I've tried it with security turned on (WPA2) and with it turned off, I keep getting Disconn from acumen4,AUTH-ERR . I am hoping someone can spot something. Here are results of a scan: SCAN:Found 1 Num SSID Ch RSSI Sec MAC Address...

Re: WiFly Shield code library alpha 0 release (also SPI UART)

First I did not have the alpha 2 release of the library but now I have... now the program does not freeze so that problem is no longer in my way, Great! but I need the thing to work with a 64bit WEP key, but it seems it only supports 128 BIT WEP... so my new problem is that I need the WiFly to conn...
