Re: Some openLog issues + reflashing info

Hi fox - I did some breadboard experimenting with OpenLog and a shifter board (RS232 to serial converter) to see if I could bootload the OpenLog without an FTDI/DTR trick. It works fine. Sounds like you're headed in the right direction. Do download the libusb0.dll: http://wiki.github.com/nseidle/Ope...

Sorry guys! We try to get real dimensions on every board but a few have fallen through the cracks. If you need something, spark at sparkfun . com is who to ask. The tech support guys get to almost everything, and we'd be happy to get dimensions up. Same goes for Eagle PCB files, please just ask. I d...

Nice work! You are correct. A power-up reset should work fine for bootloading, you'll just have to start avrdude.exe at roughly the same time you power up the openlog. It's hard to time it right, that's why they invented the DTR reset trick.

Weirdness. What version of OpenLog firmware do you have? Sounds like you might have v1.0 of the firmware which is fairly buggy. I'd love to walk you through an update if possible.

Have you checked the issues over on GitHub?

Hi - sounds like an awesome project! Sorry for the confusing directions! Our thoughts on the various licenses and boards have changed over the years. The Eagle footprints are good to use. There should not be any more limits or notes on them. The OpenLog is totally open. Go crazy with it. All we requ...

Hey 60amp_relay - thank you very much! This is an excellent little tutorial for people who need to get the FT232 breakout to 5V IO. I'll link from the product page.

Hi, Thanks for your help and patience on this problem. There's two things going on: 1) In v1.1 there was certainly the possibility to have an SD card fill up with 255 logs. Once this happened, open log would loop endlessly looking for an open spot to create a log. The solution was to delete any zero...

Hi Superconductor, I'm really sorry you had to go through all this. We've tried very hard to support you including two of my best people (Paul and Omy). Paul even offered to check his work email over the weekend to work with you while you made your decision to pay the fees. FedEx is explicitly good ...

Hi guys, Thanks for all the feedback! But we're horrible firmware people. The ATtiny2313 is running a very rudimentary USB stack. It's not clean, it's not certified, and it works - usually. It sounds like there are a lot of motherboards out there that can tolerate this marginal USB, and some that ca...

Hi, Way back in the day (~2005) we offered bare ADXL boards. Now that Analog Devices has moved to the much smaller, tighter SMD packages, we're concerned that it would be very prohibitive for a user to try to hand solder the ADXL samples. If you know what you're doing with hot-air, it's possible, bu...

Cool idea! We're working on it but don't have an ETA (I hate vaporware). We should have the ability to link to a 'basket' soon.
