Re: HTC Diamond , xbee and wifi...

You need to know Windows Mobile development. I believe you need Visual Studio 2008 and possible Windows Mobile 6 SDK. Find more info here: http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/WM6YourFirstApp

Interface through headset plug (TRRS) to iPhone/Android?

Hi, I am trying to use this TRRS plug (4 connectors) to send my signal to a smartphone. When microphone connected directly to the plug, Android on smartphone recognizes it as a headset. When I disconnect microphone and supply my own PWN signal and ground, Android says it is a headphone. How can I mi...

As I understand, FTDI will give you virtual COM port and not Mass Storage functionality. You need to find USB MCU from Atmel and I am sure that they have plenty of examples and circuits for to-be flash drives..

I think you need I2C EEPROM like 24LC256 from microchip, they give out samples too. You can find code written for PICs online, and you need only 2 lines to interface the memory chip

I think you'll need to be a huge professional to design computer platform with such a small size. You can eventually create a working prototype, but not as small as Razr phone. At least for another couple years.

Thank you guys!

My board is pretty crowded, just wanted to see if i can have one component less.

I'll leave the part to make sure I won't have to stick it later on when accelerometer readings are off :D

Do I need capacitor in my design?

Hello guys,

I am interfacing accelerometer, and design tips suggest that I put decoupling capacitor of value 0.1 uF between Vcc and Vss. I also have power regulator for accelerometer and Vout from regulator has polar capacitor 1 uF.

Do I still need to decouple power inputs with ceramic 0.1 uF?

Well, I think simply it should look like GPS ---(NMEA text)---> RF chip ---(NMEA text)---> RF at the other end ---(NMEA text)---> Bluetooth. Your data is plain text, RS232-friendly, at any point of time. You do not have to convert it anywhere at all. You can get DIP boards with GPS, RF and Bluetooth...

Update: with the help of oscilloscope I found that Sony's remote sends multiple codes with a single press of a button, thanks Philba!!!

I will update my code to capture a minute worth of data and send it to receiver - will see if it's going to work!

Thank you guys for valuable input.

Thank you for your responses - I'll rehost images once I come home - I do not repeat the signal, I've read that Sony sends only one signal at a time (is that true)? I try to repeat it and see what happens. - jasonharper, I made sure signal has close enough timing and my osciloscope shows that freque...

I know you can solder an array of IR LEDs and they'll give you a lot of output power. That's how you can activate that traffic light IR system used by emergency vehicles from many feet away.

Gesture-controlled IR remote, few issues

Hi Everybody, I am working on my version of IR remote and at the final stage of development now. I record IR signal from original remote and in my remote I send it out if buttons/hand gestures were activated. However, I see that IR signal that I send from my microcontroller is not recognized by appl...
