HamShield - a VHF/UHF transceiver for your Arduino

Hello everyone, Over the last year, a few hams and I have been at work on a FM VHF/UHF transceiver shield for the Arduino. It supports voice and data on 3 ham bands: 144/220/440 and has transceiver range from 136-170MHz, 200-260MHz, 400-520MHz. It has a TRRS audio jack as well as PWM smoother and AD...

Re: ARDUINO and ws2801 RGB LED strip

There were examples on the product page....and there are other examples out on the internet.

Start with that. Learn something.

This is not a free consulting/do-all-your-work-for-you forum.

When the code you write breaks, post it here, and people will probably be more likely to help you.

Re: Mega Pro 3.3V and IDE 1.0 Windows

The core files are common to all boards that are built into arudino. Just make sure the hardware/arduino/core is copied into the core files for your mega_pro_3.3 directory. I also have had luck modifying the boards.txt in hardware and merging it with the rest, even though it wasn't suggested by the ...

Re: Arduino Mega Pro Download Error

I dropped by one of the hacker spaces (Metrix in Seattle) to see if anyone else could make sense out of this issue. I found someone with windows. While the board definitions are tricky to install, once we were able to silence the compile errors, we were able to build "blink" for the arduino mega pro...

Re: Mega Pro 3.3V and IDE 1.0 Windows

Go into the other arduino core and copy out what is missing and put it into the mega_pro_3.3 directory, this fixed the issue here.

Re: Arduino Mega Pro Download Error

I don't really see how the platform is relevant, unless the board files have some sort of very specific windows dependency.

Could you provide a wiring diagram? Do you have them grounded together?

Re: Arduino Mega Pro Download Error

I am a bit nervous to put on a "random" binary without more guidence. Also, is the wiring bootloader the same as arduino?

Re: Arduino Mega Pro Download Error

SparkFun might have an OSX fix for this tomorrow. However, they are on the path that users are putting the board files in the wrong location. I am putting it inside the application, so i am not sure what i would be doing wrong. They say the boards work fine in windows. I will have to borrow a window...

Re: Cellular Shield with SM5100B - SIM Card

I haven't used the SM5100B in particular, so I do not know if the module has any quirks, but the only thing that has caused me trouble in the past would be issues with the capacitors between the GSM module and the SIM, SIM socket switch failure or failure to permanently ground the SIMIN line, or som...

Re: Arduino Mega Pro Download Error

I sent an email to tech support over the weekend, but I haven't heard back yet. As a long time customer since 2005, I have not seen anything like this before from SparkFun. Stuff has, for the most part, worked. Any issues were rectified promptly. I have tight deadlines, and I have always been able t...

Re: Cellular Shield with SM5100B - SIM Card

+SIND must be some annoying unsolicited response. try a AT+CPIN? and see what it says. then try an AT+CREG? It will take the device a few seconds to register, but very strange. You can also try to listen to the audio and perform a simple dial operation for a non working number: ATD611; and see if yo...

Re: Arduino Mega Pro Download Error

Did this ever get solved? I ordered two Arduino Mega Pro 3.3's and I am completely dead in the water due to this issue. I even tried to use the exact Arduino build they used, no luck. So probably a bootloader issue?

The problem is, there *still* is no bootloader image on the page.

Re: Nike+ serial numbers to hex UID conversion?

What ANT entity does your 32-bit "UID" number represent? Doesn't look much like ANT channel IDs, but you never know. The easy way for the iPod end to see the serial number of the transmitter is for the transmitter to send it. ANT does suggest using part of the serial number in the channel ID, but t...

Re: Nike+ serial numbers to hex UID conversion?

I agree that having more pairs should help. My inference from your OP was that you had ~12 pairs already, rather than just 4. Unfortunately, i am not as organized as I thought. I left the remainder back east, cannot find my file listing them, and i'll have to wait until i fly back in a few weeks to...
