Re: WiFi robot project, help with shopping list and guidance

Have you seen the WiFi controlled robot tutorial by Alex the Giant of Sparkfun fame?

Here is a link to the tutorial: https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/wi ... 1504673727

Re: Tsunami firmware update problem (PIR motion tip).

I've used a PIR motion sensor with the WAV Trigger board controlled by a Mega (Uno would work too). One of the things I ran into was an annoying re-trigger behavior of the PIR sensor. As a result I ended up using a version of this code (https://playground.arduino.cc/Code/PIRsense) which forces a del...

Re: MP3 Trigger Micro sd card

From the MP3 Trigger Hookup Guide on the Sparkfun site...
Basic Operation
Simply drag and drop the desired MP3 files into the root directory of a FAT32 or FAT16 formatted microSD flash card using a PC.

Re: Wav Trigger Serial control with arduino nOOb question

On the Mega I use AltSoftSerial to control the WAV Trigger serially as follows... #include <AltSoftSerial.h> // AltSoftSerial uses Arduino Mega 2560 pins 48 RX and 46 TX connected the the WAV Trigger TX and RX respectively. Not sure what else you are looking for exactly beyond the example sketch for...

Re: WAV Trigger voltage signal

Perhaps you can share a bit more about the circuit board the you are trying to create to help the forum understand what the "real world" trigger is. That is, a final stage that swings a voltage from GND to 5V should be easy but what is the stimulus or logic that causes the need to trigger the WAV tr...

Re: WAV Trigger voltage signal

I stand corrected. As I said I've not interfaced with the WAV Trigger in that configuration. Everything I do is though the serial interface.

Re: Help With if/else Statement

Well damn you paulvha (just kidding) you beat me to it. Must be a time zone time. Yes that will work. I had just this morning (PST) finished my version (very similar) and was about to post when I saw this. The difficult part was trying to understand what Ardalan wanted. Once he described it in full ...

Re: Help With if/else Statement

OK, so what may be happening is that once you enter the <50 state you are toggling your state variable at a rate roughly equivalent to 500ms delay and driving your on/off LED accordingly. If you want to slow down the toggle than yes, adjust the delay. But to me that may not be the behavior you reall...

Re: Help With if/else Statement

Perhaps this will help me understand your desired behavior... Assuming currentState is initialized to 0, what would be the expected values of currentState (abbv. CS in the table below) for each read of distance: Of course Last CS will = New CS of any prior read. [Read],Distance < 50],[Last CS],[New ...

Re: Help With if/else Statement

Need some clarification... You say I want to toggle "currentState" between 0 and 1 for every 1 time distance becomes less than 50. Do you mean if it's less than 50 on any read, then toggle currentState. Or to you mean toggle currentState when less than 50 if and only if the prior read was not less t...

Re: Testing if a 230v AC circuit is closed

Does this unit have any display or power indicators driven by 5v logic? If so you could potentially tap into an LED's anode lead that comes on when power is on. I did this for a camera that I wanted to time lapse control with a micro controller. I needed to know if the camera was on or not when it w...

Re: Help With if/else Statement

Base on your limited code fragment, I'm assuming that you basically want to toggle the state variable "currentState" only when distance is less than 50. Assuming your currentState is defined as a boolean you could do the following: int distance; bool currentState = 0; // Assuming this is your initia...
