Re: Atmel ICE in Arduino IDE

Openocd is installed when you add SAMD boards from board manager in the Arduino IDE.

It places it in:
C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Arduino15\packages\arduino\tools\openocd

I don't know why it doesn't work

Re: Atmel ICE in Arduino IDE

Thanks. My file looks like this: atmel_ice.name=Atmel-ICE atmel_ice.communication=USB atmel_ice.protocol= atmel_ice.program.protocol= atmel_ice.program.tool=openocd atmel_ice.program.extra_params= sam_ice.name=Atmel SAM-ICE sam_ice.communication=USB sam_ice.protocol= sam_ice.program.protocol= sam_ic...

Re: Atmel ICE in Arduino IDE

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I know how to do that in Atmel Studio. I just wanted to include it in the arduino ide (since it is in the programmer list)

Atmel ICE in Arduino IDE

Has anyone tried to use ICE in the Arduino IDE?

The ICE does NOT show up as a comm port, but the ICE IS in the programmer list as if it is supported.
What am I missing?

I am just trying to burn a bootloader into a SAMD21.

Thanks,

Jim

Can't send private messages sometimes

Private messages stay in the outbox for days. It has worked before, so what has changed?

Re: how to safely use nichrome wire as a heating element

Typically, it would be insulated in a ceramic-like composite. An example would be magnesium oxide and a bonding resin under high pressure. You can purchase insulated nichrome wire. It is usually insulated with fiberglass or other fiber. Here is a link: https://ultimachine.com/content/31-awg-nichrome...

Re: SparkFun SAMD21 Mini Breakout Analog Write

I found an issue in the boards.txt file.

The issue is with "samd21_dev.build.variant=" When I change the mini to read "samd21_dev.build.variant=arduino_zero" instead of "samd21_mini.build.variant=SparkFun_SAMD_Mini" it works fine.

Thanks,

Jim

SparkFun SAMD21 Mini Breakout Analog Write

I just received my "SparkFun SAMD21 Mini Breakout" and found that bit does not function properly with analogWrite. If you select **SparkFun SAMD21 Dev Breakout** in the Arduino IDE instead, it works fine. I wonder if they loaded the wrong firmware in the mini? I am not sure why it's firmware would b...

SAMD breakout board compile/upload takes long time

I have a new SparkFun SAMD21 Dev Breakout board. Compile/Upload is where I have a problem. It takes a long time for even the smallest of programs. The text below is the compile/upload of the blink program. I don't understand why this is so much different than the other arduino boards I use. Am I doi...
