Re: Razor IMU M0 : heading seems off

Does anyone have a sketch that actually makes use of the hardware that is on this board? I had really hoped to save a couple of days of tuning my own integrators/filters :-( if (heading > PI) heading -= (2 * PI); else if (heading < -PI) heading += (2 * PI); else if (heading < 0) heading += 2 * PI; I...

Mine immediately prints data when I connect it on Ubuntu and cat the serial port. Try this: Plug it in, and type: dd if=/dev/ttyACM0 bs=10 This will read data from the serial port ttyACM0 and print it to your terminal. You should see the data output stream without having to send a space character.

I don't use the MPU9250, but in general, magnetometers need to be calibrated to be useful the most sophisticated approach to on-line magnetometer calibration for Arduino is probably this series I understand that you're trying to help. However, that's not what my concern is here. I paid $50 for an A...

Oh, ouch, I just read the DMP library code. First, it is written so it sometimes returns values between -180 and 360, because of a faulty three-way if. Second, it doesn't have any affordance for calibrating the magnetometer. It assumes the magnetometer readings will be centered on zero, but no such ...

Running a Razor IMU M0, with the latest downloaded firmware, and Razor library (version 1.4.0) and board support package. I have configured it to only show heading and time. Here is the config: //////////////////////////////// // Default Logging Parameters // //////////////////////////////// #define...

Oh, that's less than I feared! Wind catching might add more force than gravity in this case.

Kinetis K20 questions (board components, programming)

I've been using Teensy 3 boards in the past for Kinetis K20 chips, and those boards are great! However, I may need to build a board that has a K20 (or something like it) on it, go use as a smart brushless motor servo controller. The Teensy isn't quite right for this, being on its own board, and not ...

How much do the rings weigh? Building an arm that can lift several pounds several feet out is ... a challenge :-) Maybe just a base pivot and a hook, like an old-style tow truck, would do it. And a magnet on the hook? Also, how far away from the robot is the operator for the non-autonomous options? ...

Barrel clearance

 by jwatte ¦  Mon May 01, 2017 4:56 pm ¦  Forum: AVC ¦  Topic: Barrel clearance ¦  Replies: 6 ¦  Views: 1685

Is there a defined minimum barrel clearance? I'm looking for a minimum guaranteed clearance between any two barrels (but not necessarily barrel and haybales/side.) I understand that there's no guaranteed "straight path" though, which is fine, but I need to know how much space there is to maneuver. I...

Thanks. I see the measurement now.
Separately, should I plan on not knowing the doom trap before race day, or will we get info before then?

Distance to the shortcut?

Thanks for posting the rules for the new venue! I just realized that the posted course description doesn't set out the distance from the first corner to the shortcut. I could eyeball it by measuring pixels, but that seems less ideal than being given an accurate measurement. Separately: Is the idea t...

After trying a number of things, I found the solution. It turns out, the zadig.exe installer by default installs the WinUSB driver (which is the native Windows 8 way of talking to USB.) However, avrdude wants to use libusb-win32, which I can choose to install instead. Uninstalling the driver for the...

I have a Sparkfun pocket AVR Programmer. Usually, I use this from Linux with command-line avrdude, and it works fine. However, now I need to use it from a Windows 8.1 / x64 machine, from the Arduino IDE, and I can't get it recognized. I downloaded and ran the zadig.exe installer (from an administrat...
