... I noticed that the brown colored line (D2) in the tutorial has no translator.
Is this OK?
Did anyone pick up on this?
Should the brown line (wire) in the tutorial have a 5V to 3V converter?
Did anyone pick up on this?

I this exact set-up all the time and works perfectly so you must be doing something wrong or something is fried... Did you use signal translators ? The Uno is 5V and the RFM69 is 3V. Got it working now. A failed solder connection may have been the problem. I resoldered all of the connections and ch...

I am following this tutorial: RFM69HCW Hookup Guide https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/rfm69hcw-hookup-guide For one node, I am using the RFM69HCW and a Arduino Uno R3. This combination is not working properly for me. I have it wired the same as for the 5V Redboard in the tutorial. I am using the ...

My mailbox is a distance away and many times I have gone up there only to find there is no mail or they have not come yet. There are many alert systems for sale on the market, but it is my understanding that for the most part their range is short or they work unreliably or both. Therefore, I would l...

Thank you Dave, rrpilot, and qwertymodo for your considered responses. Perhaps, at the present time, some of what you talk about is beyond my level of understanding. In any case, when I tried to use the calculator and came up with 1.28 mils it just did not seem right. I will use 5 volts. The amps wi...

Thanks for your reply. Using this calulator and entering 0.2 amp with a trace length of 5: http://www.circuitcalculator.com/wordpress/2006/01/31/pcb-trace-width-calculator/ I come up with 1.28 mils. Do you come up with the same thing? What if the voltage was 500 volts instead of the 5 volts I intend...

Your answer, I believe, assumes I have not googled this. I have but am not sure I am doing it right and came here for confirmation and prehaps some helpful tips. For example, I see no entry on the calculator for voltage. In addition, the lmgtfy website appears to me to be what I call a spam site. I ...

What should the trace width on a 1oz. copper Board be for 5 volts, no more than 200ma, at normal operating temperatures?

I think I am getting somewhere using a transistor inverter with a 3904 which is what everyone was trying to explain to me above but I did not understand it and was not doing it right. R3 is there for a reason but may not be the correct value. In some cases the source led high/low voltage can vary an...

The source contains a current limiting resistor.

I am using a 3906 as I can not seem to get a 3904 to work.

This is sort of what I had in mind (but not quite) and it appears to be working. I had to lower the value of R4 because led2 was dimly lit when led1 was on. example1-small copy.jpg Note that the cathode of led2 is connected to Q1. I do not want it to be this way. I want the cathode to connect direct...

I do not think I am doing it right. Is there a circuit diagram available on the web?
