Are you sure it's jitter? The ACS712 outputs the instantaneous current, not the RMS current. So for an AC signal, you should see it oscillating about 512. I use the 20amp version of this chip and it works really well for detecting current draw on an AC machine (240V here in Aus). I sample it at 100...

Does someone have code for arduino to measure AC current? As I understand to measure AC current Arduino need to measure positive and negative halves of 220V 50/60Hz wave, then show the results, but I do not understand how to sync arduino with grid in order to define begining and end of sin wave? Nice, but I'm using 30A version and noticed that multimeter gives almost 2ce readings, what could be wrong with this code?
