Re: Double Sided PCB SMT Soldering

Thanks for the tutorials on SMT soldering SFE! A current design I'm working on requires that surface mount components be mounted on both sides of a PCB... Any ideas on how to solder them? If I bought a hot air rework gun, would it heat the board enough that components on one side would fall off whe...

Some of the products sold here as SFE use the cool parallel cases with space for a parallel connector and an pcb and a serial or the like. Like the PIC-Tiny-ICD2 for instance. The JDM serial programm also uses one for serial. These are some cool little things, and I've got a few uses in mind, but I ...

What error messages are being spit back at you from MPLAB? The most common failure I've seen with the full ICD2 is a result of improperly wiring the ICSP line. Depending on how you connected it, it usually nukes the buffer ICs that drive the ICSP lines. Replacing them clears up most problems. -Bill...

ICD2 Clone Broken

A few months ago, I purchased "MPLAB Compatible ICD2 with USB and RS232" SKU#: PIC-ICD2. It's been working great up until a week ago when it stopped working entirely. My programming software no longer detects it via USB input, and it is also unable to connect via serial. I also tried using Windows w...
