Re: Speed Demon Track - Blue Boards

Thanks for the info, that's very helpful. Sounds like a cow catcher front end would help to nudge between the barrels. With the barrels that tight it sounds more like a logistic run instead of a speed demon.

Re: Speed Demon Track - Blue Boards

I wasn't able to attend last year so I don't have a reference. Since my rover is a 1/10th scale Slash, I'm going to assume I would have trouble with the boards. Can we push the barrels without penalty? Or are the barrels too heavy to move? I managed to push the hoop a few feet 2 years ago. :)

Speed Demon Track - Blue Boards

Can we get more details on this blue board obstacle? Maximum height of the boards, spacing, etc? Would a typical RC chassis be able to drive over this?

Re: Using I2C with the SAMD21 DEv Board

Yep, that's what it was. After I added some pull-ups, it's working fine with the SAMD21. Now why did it work for the RedBoard? I'm guessing the internal pull-ups were used for the mega328, does the SAMD21 not have pull-ups? I haven't dived that deep into that huge data sheet yet. Thanks for the help.

Using I2C with the SAMD21 DEv Board

I have an external EEPROM connected to the SCL and SDA pins and created a simple sketch that uses the wire library. This setup works great on a RedBoard, but with the SAMD21, all I get back from the EEPROM reads is 0xFF. And after running a few minutes the code goes off into wonderland and stops res...

Air Travel with Bots

I'm assuming many of you fly to this type of competition. How do you transport your bot, tools, batteries, etc. ? I would think that just checking in a suitcase full of tools would give TSA a fit.

AVC Pit Area

So what can we expect in the pit area? Are tables supplied? Is there power? If yes I assume we should bring a power strip? What about security? If I leave a laptop and tools in the pit area and go do a run, how do I know everything will still be there when I return? Any restrictions on food and liqu...

Re: AVC 2016

For classic AVC it appears we need to use an IR transponder on the vehicle. How does it mount? What power source does it use? The pic looks like a servo cable, so 4.8 to 6.0 volts? What is a Jackson? (They cost $20 to rent for the event so have a Jackson ready on Saturday morning) Edit: Ok I get the...

Ok, I guess we'll have to juggle schedules as best as possible. Thanks for the info.

Re: AVC Event Schedule

I know what day it was, but that's not what I'm after. During the course of event day, are the various events run at the same time or at different times during the day. For example do they run the AVC rovers from 9am to 12pm and then combat from 12pm to whatever? Or do they tin rovers and combat at ...

AVC Event Schedule

I couldn't find anything posted about how the various events are schedule, so I'll ask here. Does the AVC rovers run at the same time that the combat robots are competing? Or do you split it and alternate between events so we can see everything while competing?

Re: AVC 2015 - Combat Entry - Angry Accountant

Team Cosmos rang a bell! Pete, we competed together in the 2001 BotBash in Phoenix. My robot was Kram, a 13lb. disk spinner. My son is building an ant for 2016 AVC, maybe we'll see you there.

Using the UART on a RedBoard

Once I have uploaded a sketch to the RedBoard, is the UART available for general use? If the FT231XS doesn't tri-state those lines then I assume I can't use the UART for my project. And I understand I would need to isolate those signals from my hardware when sketches are being uploaded.

Re: Serial Graphic LCD

I just tried to do this same fix on a Mac but I can't find where the header files like arduino.h are stored. Nothing show up in spotlight. Anyone know where these files are on a Mac?
