Re: Install pedal to decrease water consumption for an ecoho

Hey terex, My foot pedal is working perfectly so I haven't checked this post since now. Thank you so much for your advices! And I already started looking into some of them! Latching solenoid, you say? It sounds they are really nice by your description! I am curious! I will contact you! I am really s...

Re: Geiger Counter v14 - Counts per minute

I am using this code to listen with an Arduino with an Xbee shield (in case someone is wondering): #include <NewSoftSerial.h> // http://forums.fungizmos.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=4 // To easily use the Xbee shield as a PC <-> Xbee passthrough we can tie the Xbee serial ports // to unused arduino i/o p...

Re: Geiger Counter v14 - Counts per minute

Hey Xantor!! I just tried it and it seems to work!! :D Happy!! When I compile it, it gives me this warning: ../geiger_v14.c:64:11: warning: operation on 'current' may be undefined Should I define it at the start? Like I said it seems to work without any other modifications. By the way, do you maybe ...

Re: Geiger Counter v14 - Counts per minute

Hi Xantor,

Would you mind putting some comments on the lines of code you wrote? :) Just to understand what each one does..

And could you please tell me which part of code should I replace from the old code?

Thank you so much for all your help!

Re: Geiger Counter v14 - Counts per minute

Better would be to keep a running one minute average updated every second, but that's a little more complicated. Brilliant idea! ..Unfortunately your code is written with Chinese characters for me! :((. Tomorrow I will try to look at it while searching through the internet. Maybe I will get to deco...

Re: Geiger Counter v14 - Counts per minute

Hey, thank you Xantor! But it seems to me a bit weird to just put the calculations with the printf and not not do all the calculations before. For example there is this: "//load timer with a value to optimize for 1 second, (256/8MHz)*(65536bits-34000)~=1.009s TCNT1 = 34000;" which asks to be modifie...

Geiger Counter v14 - Counts per minute

Hi guys, I recently succeeded in updating the Geiger Counter (http://www.sparkfun.com/products/9848) firmware to v13. I a total novice with AVR Studio so doing this is a real achievement. :) But I searched the net and realized that the counter should output counts per minute instead of counts per se...

Re: Burn the Arduino Bootloader on a Sparkfun Geiger Counter

Hey! Thank you so much, trialex! I think I just managed to get the firmware updated with AVR STudio. So I have to try a few things in this configuration before I delve into what you had written. As I finally got this to work (I think) I don't want to spoil it by doing something stupid before I try a...

Burn the Arduino Bootloader on a Sparkfun Geiger Counter

After skratching my head for a couple of months already with AVR Studio and an AVRISP STK500 and the like, I am sick and tired of all this and I would like to install the Arduino bootloader on my Geiger Counter which I bought waay back (and never properly used) from Sparkfun. Than, I will try to upl...

Re: Install pedal to decrease water consumption for an ecohouse

Thanks guys! I hope I solved the problem (meaning it won't give out again) by the doing the following: I bought a 2A electronic adapter and I put a 1n4007 diode in reverse on the positive lead of the adapter, so it would take care of a spike when I turn off the solenoid valve. Any thoughts on this a...

connect a solenoid valve to a switch. What else?

As some of you might get bored by my recent presentation or get lost in to many details or maybe just not interested (see here: http://forum.sparkfun.com/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=28716), I figured I should ask you something in simpler terms. How would I connect 2 12V Solenoid Valves (http://www.sparkfun...

Install pedal to decrease water consumption for an ecohouse

..ecohouse as in economical and ecological Hi folks, I will need some small help from you to finish this project so bare with me! But the idea is great and simple! I built a simple project based on this article (http://inhabitat.com/5-tips-to-green-yo ... m-joaquin/). As a first tip it mentions inst...

Re: A digital Geiger Counter display with Frequency Counter Kit

Thank you, Kevin. For now I intend follow the usual steps. I wanted to upload the new firmware (v13) as my geiger counter came with v12. I am stuck. Do you maybe know how I can achieve this? Afterwards I would like to try your methods where it would work besides an external board before thinking abo...
