Re: Curious about the time stamp

Bump for timestamp question. Out of order doesn't worry me too much, but it does make graphing sensor data over time just look odd. If anyone has figured out how to make sure the data is properly ordered as it is recorded on data.sparkfun.com I'm all ears! :D

Re: Any AVC 2011 Build Logs?

@trialex: arg. you probably know how these things go. I'm still planning on bringing something (at the very least: myself) to the competition, but it means a very busy week. Flying's harder than one would think. ;)

Re: Any AVC 2011 Build Logs?

Awesome! Thanks heaps to both of you. Hopefully more people will post their stuff. I am an Aeronautical Engineer and I still wouldn't take on a UAV platform! Kudos! I don't think that using production boards like that is a cop-out in anyway. You scare me when you say such things! Ignorance is bliss...

Working on it:

I should have a third post up this weekend; I got the radio in this week, and so will try to get the plane flying by this weekend. After that, gotta figure out the whole "autonomous" bit.

Re: FTDI 5v or Windows 7 trouble

Upload successful, but with some concerns. I can upload successfully, using the steps below: 1. Selecting proper com port and board (Duemilanove or Nano w/ATmega328). 2. Uploading verbosely (shift+Upload). 3. Hitting the reset button on the Arduino Pro board when I first see avrdude: Send: 0 [30] [2...

Re: FTDI 5v or Windows 7 trouble

I don't know if I should expect this to work... ...but I hooked up my Uno to the FTDI Basic 5V. Selecting either "Uno" or "Duemilanove or Nano w/ATmega328" in the board menu I still get the simple time out (see first post). This not working would really point to the FTDI board or my drivers/settings...

Re: FTDI 5v or Windows 7 trouble

Thanks, Grimfox, for the reply. I tried verbose uploading, but it didn't seem to help. What I got back is below: [omitted: some stuff about local files on my computer] Using Port : \\.\COM6 Using Programmer : stk500v1 Overriding Baud Rate : 57600 avrdude: ser_open(): setting dtr avrdude: Send: 0 [30...

Re: FTDI 5v or Windows 7 trouble

Update: From the IRC channel I got a possibly useful suggestion and tested it. Loopback test: shorting together the tx and rx pins on the FTDI basic 5V board, without the Arduino Pro attached, I opened the serial monitor in Arduino and sent a random letter to the COM. Nothing happened (no reply), on...

AVC 2011?

I'm assuming that SparkFun is going to have another AVC in 2011. Any thoughts on when this might happen?

FTDI 5v or Windows 7 trouble

Hello, and thanks in advance for any responses! I attended SFE's stenciling class , and came out with an Arduino Pro 238 5V/16MHz fully tested. I only recently got around to buying the FTDI Basic 5V board . So... I know the board works, because it was tested before my eyes at SparkFun and because I ...
