Re: Tsunami Super WAV Trigger- Setting the attack time with ini file.

Both attack and release are set using MIDI Controller messages. This is documented in the MIDI Implementation section of the User Guide.

Re: Tsunami Super WAV Trigger - Playing tracks on powerup

I'm guessing that perhaps you aren't running the latest firmware. See the release notes for version 1.04 on the download page; This issue was fixed for Tsunami. Grab the latest version, v1.08, and you should be good to go.

Re: Tsunami Super WAV Trigger - Playing tracks on powerup

With the trigger type set to "Level" and the "Invert" option checked, the trigger should be continuously active on power up. I know this works with the WAV Trigger, and thought that I made it work the same with Tsunami. I'll have to review the code to be sure.

Re: Tsunami Super WAV Trigger - Playing tracks on powerup

Also, I would advise installing (soldering) dual-row male headers in the trigger and audio pads. That way, you never have to solder wires to the board itself, and you can use small shunt jumpers to temporarily short individual triggers without soldering. Makes re-use much easier and more reliable.

Just change the trigger type to "Level" and make sure the "Invert" option is checked.

Re: Tsunami Super WAV Trigger problem playing midi on all channels

Tsunami treats MIDI channels differently than does the WAV Trigger, and more like traditional MIDI gear. Tsunami can be set to only receive on one MIDI channel, or can be set to Poly so that it responds to all MIDI channels, but channels do not currently offset the track numbers by 128. This is done...

Re: wav trigger bank up and down not working

It appears from your init file above that you've set all your triggers to Level type. Have you tried leaving them as the default Edge type? At a minimum, triggers 14 an 15 (used to change the Trigger Bank) should be Edge type if they are connected to buttons. Are you confident that the firmware upda...

Re: Tsunami & Piezo

Not directly. When struck, piezo transducers produce voltage spikes which are both too high (can be up to 35V!) and too short to be connected to the digital input of any microcontroller. At best, it will be too short and be missed in an input scan, and at worst, the voltage level will damage the inp...

Re: wav trigger bank up and down not working

What version of firmware are you using? The Trigger Bank feature was only added in v1.30b. SparkFun is shipping units with v1.28. The most current version is v1.32, available on the robertsonics WAV Trigger downloads page.

Re: Tsunami WAV Trigger and Sonuus G2M

Need a little more info. As I understand it, Tsunami is not reacting to the MIDI output of the G2M? What is the G2M supposed to be sending? Note-On and Note-Off messages? Do you know what MIDI Channel and Note Numbers it's sending? Have you named your tracks corresponding to the expected note number...

Re: Modifying a Board for Enclosure

Tsunami was designed to accommodate mounting perpendicular to a front panel. If you examine the board, you will see that there are pads to add the following right-angle pushbuttons: https://www.sparkfun.com/products/10791 With these buttons installed, they along with the microSD card, LED and USB po...

Re: wav trigger bank up and down not working

What are you trying to do? There are two types of banks functions available: trigger banks and MIDI banks. Trigger banks offset the trigger tracks by groups of 16, while MIDI banks offset tracks assigned to MIDI input note numbers by 128. Trigger banks are used to reassign the track numbers played b...

Re: n00b: Robertsonics Tsunami - Not recognising SDCard (?) plus Configurator Not Detecting COM Port

I don't believe there's anything wrong. When you power up Tsunami, what you should see on the LED is 3 blinks followed by a short flash every 3 seconds. This means that a formatted microSD card was found (3 blinks) and the firmware is now waiting for you to tell it to do something (flash every 3 sec...

Re: wav trigger--not able to update firmware

In all fairness, it's definitely more than 'a fraction of a second'. I've done this a lot and I know I've waited several seconds without a problem. But your point is taken - Documentation could always be better.

Re: wav trigger--not able to update firmware

There's a limited amount of time you have between applying power to the WAV Trigger (with the switch in the "Load" positions) and pressing the "Program" button in the app. Have you closed the 5V solder jumper on the WAV Trigger? If so, you're applying power as soon as you plug in the FTDI Basic. If ...
