Re: Thunderbolt

Hmmm. I guess you have a point. I was thinking more in terms of peripherals and displays.

Re: Thunderbolt

Only the most awesome thing to happen to computer cables in the last 15 years. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thunderbolt. It's a new connection that will hopefully replace USB, display connectors and almost every other port on your computer. It supports 10Gbps asynchronously and 2 monitors all on...

I noticed that the SparkFun breakout board had a spring pin. Is this good for any cord?

How to tell if a cord is plugged in

How would you tell if a RCA cord had been plugged in? In this case it would be transmitting audio.

Digital switch

How would I control connection like I would a switch using a microcontroller? I would like to have to composite video inputs and control which one is used for the output. Seems like there should be an IC for this.

A lot of stores have an affiliate program where you can earn a percentage of what someone buys when they go to the store site from an affiliate link.

It's kind of like referrals, but geared more towards advertisers. See Amazon's affiliate program.

Lithium Ion battery charging

I bought a couple lithium ion batteries that were for camcorders. I got them for only a few cents and figured if I couldn't figure out how to use them it wouldn't be a huge loss. Does anyone know how I would go about charging them? one has 3 contacts and the other has 4. Will the Sparkfun LiPol char...

Why is it that the WiFi modules cost so much when I can get a PCI WiFi card on sale for $10?

I'm looking for what you mean by clamping diode and can't seem to find anything online. Do you mean a diode between the micro and transistor?

Thank you for your help

My point was I didn't know the specs of the motors I was trying because I they didn't come with a data sheet.

I got it working with a transistor but I don't think it was the voltage increase but the fact that it wasn't being ground out on the low side of the PWM and breaking.

I tried a few motors I salvaged. The key is that it will run on the output pin just not when I try PWM on even 90%.
