Timings of bytes sent by DALI?

Hello, Thankyou very much indeed for your previous answers. Our software engineer has failed to get our DALI comms system working for our lamps that use PIC18F26K20. (The DALI libraries etc are just too complex). Therefore we are now asking him to just do software “bit-bashing” of the DALI signal, w...

Debug PIC18F26K20 with Pickit3

Hello, Our software works on some of our PCBs but not others. We program them with pickit3 and use ICSP. Can we just plug the Pickit3 into the board and debug it like that? When i try to debug I am getting "Connection failed" error in MPLAB X IDE. Do you know why? I have the 5 pin header in the pick...

ESD damage to MCLR pin of PIC18F26K20?

Hello, We have some offline, linear regulator based LED drivers which are dimmable with their PIC18F26K20. (we are using ICSP with Pickit3 to program it) Some of the PCBs work, most don’t, and some work the first time they are powered up but never thereafter. By “non-working”, I mean they light up b...

Setting SpecIal Function Registers in PIC18F26K20 and XC8 C

Hello, We are using a PIC18F26K20 in our simple DALI dimmable lamp. Our software engineer used XC8 C in MPLAB X IDE. His code does not have any mention of the ANSEL, ANSELH, INTCON or INTCON3 registers. Is this allright? We want RA1 and RA2 as analog inputs (ADC ). All the other pins we want as Digi...

Re: Simple XC8 Code builds but doesnt work..PIC18F26K20

In your configuration bits, you have !MCLR enabled which means you need to connect it to Vcc to get the PIC to run its program.
Thanks, will it be OK to do this via a 10K resistor? I am usign the Vpp of this pin for ICSP.

Simple XC8 Code builds but doesnt work..PIC18F26K20

Hello, The following XC8 C code for PIC18F26K20 Builds successfully but doesn’t work. Please help make it work? All it is supposed to do is output on RC2 what it reads as an input on RB0. (They are both Digital I/O ports) I cannot see why it wont work. The following is the crux of the...

Time domain multiplexor for multiple USB data streams

Hello, We need a multi-channel version of this USB isolator...... USB isolator: (£67) http://usb-isolator.eu/Files/Product%20sheet%20-%20USBISO-DT15.pdf We could just buy several of the isolators, but they are too expensive. Therefore, we are wondering if there is a unit that we could buy that will ...

How to use serial data software with PIC18F26K20?

Hello, Please could i ask how to use Realterm serial data acquisition program? We want to load the debug output of our microcontroller to a file but we are not sure how to do this. We have a PIC18F26K20 on a PCB , and we have connected to GND and the TX pin (pin 14) of PIC18F26K20. The software engi...

Re: PWM from CCP8 pin of PIC18F65K22?

Thanks very much, do you believe that the following code (microchip xc8 c) is ok for setting up the pic18f65k22 ccp module to deliver 25khz pwm? //This function sets up the CCP module into PWM mode. //The PWM frequency is set to 25KHz for the Sanyo Denki fan //(9HV0848P1G001) //Note FOSC= 4MHz void ...

PWM from CCP8 pin of PIC18F65K22?

Hello, Please check this calculation of resolution of the pwm of the ccp module of pic18f65k22... I wish to use the PIC18F65K22 to get a pwm signal on the RE4 (ccp8) pin of 25KHz frequency. The chip oscillator is running at 4MHz. From the equations on page 256 of the pic18f65k22 datasheet, it appear...

Treating a register like a bit in C code?

Hello, We are using microchip XC8 free c compiler within mplab.x. We are programming PIC18F65K22. We have two 8 bit registers dipsw2 and dipsw3 which are declared with the uint8_t type declaration. Dipsw2 and dipsw3 only ever hold the value 0 or 1. (0x00 or 0x01) Is the following type of comparison ...

Setting internal oscillator frequency in micro?

Hello, I am using microchip's free XC8 compiler in MPLAB.X to program in C for the PIC18F65K22. We wish to use the internal oscillator, set to 1MHz, but cannot do this...."OSCCON = 0x36" does not work. Do you know how to set the frequency of the internal oscillator? Also, do you know how to use the ...

PWM output from CCP pin of PIC?

Hello, We need a 25khz PWM signal from our PIC18F65K22 microcontroller, but by mistake, when laying out the PCB, I have connected the track to the CCP10 pin instead of the CCP8 pin. Page 245 of the micro’s datasheet says that the CCP module is disabled for the CCP10 pin in the PIC18F65K22 device. Th...

Using an earlier version of Eagle?

Hello, I use Eagle Pro (version 6.5.0) (cost £900) on my computer. A junior engineer has layed out a prototype PCB in the free version of Eagle (version 7.1.0). I now need to evaluate his work and tidy it up. Is it possible to view and edit his schematic and pcb in my Eagle version 6.5.0?….or do I h...
