Great recon, thanks! How much room is there to navigate around them, if any?

AVC 2013 Entry Video - problem

I emailed avc@sparkfun.com with a link to my entry video on May 8. I'm not sure if the AVC staff received it because I was sent another reminder email today as if I'd sent nothing yet. What gives?! I sent another email. Just in case it isn't received either, here's a link to my video. http://youtu.b...

Re: AVC 2013?

Good to hear! Thanks for all the hard work. I'm looking forward to hearing more. I've been working on a few minor improvements for Data Bus here and there. It's high time to knuckle down and get busy with the big stuff. I'll be blogging about my efforts again this year. Meanwhile, if anyone's intere...

Re: AVC 2013 submission?

I believe it's highly likely there will be a 2013 AVC and that, like last time, SFE will announce that registration is open at some point between now and Dec 30, 2013 :) and that it will probably sell out within a day or two as before. So best to watch the news feed :D

Re: Help with filenames --> exported from DipTrace

I can't imagine paste layers are necessary. Dont' know about Board. Maybe board outline??

Why not use a free gerber viewer and see what's in them to be sure? I like GerberLogix. Also an online one: http://www.gerber-viewer.com/

Re: RN-41 Range issue

I can't see how you would increase range without using a different module that supports higher power output.

Re: Porting OpenOCD on ARM

Usually in these situations all you have to do is search for the error string (e.g., "relocations in generic elf"). That's all I did and got this, which may be apropos. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/8168950/cross-compiling-c-project-relocations-in-generic-elf-em-3 If it doesn't help, try the se...

Re: BATCH find and replace and format

Unix, Linux, Cygwin available by any chance? You could use a combination of shell / sed or perl depending on what exactly you need to do very quickly. So "ý" is supposed to become what in text? These are text files but obviously they have some kind of escape sequences or markup or something, right? ...

Re: Using the HMC6352 compass to control the direction of a

Before looking at the code, make sure that the HMC6352 is outputting a heading that looks roughly correct. If not, it needs calibration. The sensor has onboard calibration which you can try. If you can't get that to work, you can do your own calibration. Search for "quick and dirty compass calibrati...

Re: Rc car

Sometimes it's best to take tiny steps and test each. When troubleshooting it helps to isolate the cause of the problem as best you can. Make sure everything is wired correctly, battery charged, all the basic things. Now, try removing the code related to sensing something. Remove the analogRead the ...

Re: After Arduino??

I'd say you want a smaller form factor. What I'd do is design a pcb that houses a surface mount ATmega328P with the necessary components and connectors to program it and drive the LEDs (or whatever) of a size that fits inside the intended box. Something a bit more in reach for your initial forays in...

2012 Sparkfun AVC: post your pics, videos, blogs, news clips

As I'm sure everyone here knows, last Saturday (6/16) was the annual Sparkfun Autonomous Vehicle Competition where ground and air robots run a timed race around the Sparkfun Building in Boulder. What a show! (I saw some of it but was mostly stuck in the pits trying to get my robot to work) If you ha...

That was weird. After sitting all night without a backup battery, it works now at the expected 38400. Yay!
