Re: Vias for home etched boards?

Yep - the ends are really great. I keep them in a bin called "zero ohm" ;)

Re: How to not plate the inside of a hole

:/

Let me re-phrase that. What's the difference between specifying an unplated hole in drill file...or...why not just include it on the board outline as an internal route? Isn't that a better way to go about it? No?

Grrr. Try Fusion PCB services. http://www.seeedstudio.com/depot/fusion ... p-835.html

They have 5 different thicknesses you can select from.

Re: How to not plate the inside of a hole

What about putting the hole in the board outline? Would that work?

Re: Vias for home etched boards?

I'll have to try that. I wonder if solder paste might work the the same effect???...dispense paste from a needle to both sides, and heat one side.

I've seen a link to a company that sells very small parts, that look like rivets. Anyone give that a go?

Re: Vias for home etched boards?

I might have to make my way over to yahoo(if I have to) - but wouldn't mind discussing it here. Thanks.

Anyone with some insight?

Vias for home etched boards?

Anyone have the trick set up for quickly making quality vias on home (toner transfer) etched boards? They really seem like a PITA. I've been sticking wire into the hole and soldering one side. Then flip the board and solder the other. Sometimes it heats up the pad that's already soldered on the othe...

Re: Trace width/Thickness?

Well, correct me if I'm wrong, but your traces should be kept short as possible - and have as low of resistance as you can. Your shunt should be doing all the voltage dropping. Anyways - why not pull the solder mask on those traces, and then tin them with solder by hand? A nice thing 2 mm coating of...

Re: What's that plastic film that comes on electronics called?

^That's a different link - it's not in the first page of results (if ever). Sooo...still no funny. No cookie for you.

I got my answer else where - thanks.

It's called static cling vinyl film.

But thanks for the help! Oh, and I have a link for you too!

Re: What's that plastic film that comes on electronics called?

Well, it would be funny if any of those links were what I described. Then I would really have a good laugh at myself!

But that entire first page of results is nothing like what I described....so you didn't bring the funny.

(It *could* cause confusion, but it's in the each posters best interest to be understood clearly, so I doubt people will edit their posts to confuse people.)

I say let's live dangerously!

Thanks Bill!
