Questions relating to designing PCBs

I have an old Gerber file that's the wrong scale (it's 1:4 -- 4 times too small). I've fiddled around with the SF (Scale Factor) command, but gerbv doesn't seem to handle it properly. Is there a way (preferably Linux-friendly) that I can scale the file up in a way that BatchPCB will deal with properly?

Forgive my density - but could you provide a little more information? IE. what specifically is failing?

Ah, my bad (initially). I had the wrong syntax (missing asterisk, I think). Now gerbv shows things more-or-less right, but some things are still scaled wrong (e.g., some portions of traces are too thin, or pads/vias are too big). I'll have to investigate further to figure out what's failing (and probably learn more than I care to about Gerber code!)
